U.S. visas for Haitian workers

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) – Haiti is now one of the 55 countries eligible for visa program that allows U.S. employers to take to United States Haitian workers with low skills, has heard DH.

The H-2A and H-2B are the two types of visa for which Haiti is eligible following the announcement of the Immigration Service of the United States.

H-2A visa allows temporary entry of foreign nationals in the United States for temporary or seasonal agricultural work. There are several requirements of the employer in respect of this type of visa.

While the H2B visa is available to employers of foreign workers not working in agriculture. This visa is only available for jobs that are temporary in nature.

The duration of the visa is limited to the employer's needs for temporary workers. The maximum allowed is one year with possibility of extension for three years by employers.
