Martelly to Tax Diaspora $8.5M USD per Month

Michel Martelly announces that he will raise taxes on international calls and transfers of money to finance his program of free education. He wants to collect 8.5 million dollars per month for this program.

At a press briefing after his return to Haiti on Tuesday, the elected president Michel Martelly said he would tax the international calls and remittances from the Diaspora to inject 8.5 million dollars  per months in his program of free education.
 
Mr. Martelly intends as follows:
 
5 cent on international calls to raise $ 3.5 million per month and $ 1 on each transfer of money from the Diaspora to raise $ 5 million per month. Which will give $ 8.5 million per month.
 
During this press briefing, the president elected Michel Joseph Martelly also comes to a conclusion about the publication of the final results of the elections of March 20th, 2011,  dedicating his victory in presidential elections.
 
Mr. Martelly also gives his opinion on the situation arising out of the final results of legislative elections and  updates on his recent visit to the United States of America.
